New Interview Up on @NatGeoAdventure Blog
Last week I released our iPhone Music video and the feedback has been awesome. Thank you for all of your emails and questions! Lot’s of people have been looking for behind the scenes type insight about the shoot — How did we stabilize the cameras? How did we get the color? How does the iPhone hold up?
Well I’m excited to share an interview I did with National Geographic Adventure for their blog about the whole project. Check out the interview HERE.
We shot a music video on the iPhone 4s — Check it out!
A few weeks back there was big news in the film world, with the announcement of two cutting edge cameras from Canon and RED. While I as excited by these announcements as anyone else I started to think back on the technology I had only a few years ago — how bulky and ‘ancient’ it was by today’s standards. I mean, the phone in my pocket is smaller and shoots higher resolution video than what I took on my first expedition to Pakistan in 2007.. That’s how the idea for this project was born.
Shot over a couple afternoons around Salt Lake City, myself and whoever wasn’t too busy from the Camp4 crew collaborated with our friend Gillian Chase (beautiful and talented singer songwriter) to shoot a music video for one of her songs she has been performing during her live shows recently. It was an incredibly different yet fun project. I hope you enjoy it, and remember any camera is just a tool that makes your story/vision/art come to life!
The first of several new video releases this week from our crew here @camp4collective! Free-ride skier Sage Cattabriga-Alosa (@sageadventure) and snowboarder Lucas Debari step out of their elements and get mentored up Denali by a cast of experienced climbers and ski mountaineers: Hilaree ONeill, Conrad Anker, Ingrid Backstrom, Jim Zellers, Emilio Previtali and Giulia Monego.
I wanted send a HUGE THANK YOU! to everyone who made it out to the NYC event this past weekend. We had a great turnout of 100+ people make on Friday evening to Hosteling International in the Upper West Side. For me the best part was the hour plus Q+A session that covered everything from expedition planning to flash sync questions.
Thanks to Eastern Mountain Sports, The North Face, Hosteling International, and everyone who came out for making it a super memorable evening!
Just announced — I will be in NYC next Friday (October 28th) with alpine rock star Conrad Anker to talk about Expeditions, Photography and everything in between. For more info go here.
I hope to share some photography insights as well as share photos and videos of some recent assignments. Conrad — well there is a reason why we call him ‘rad’, few people walking the planet have the experience he does in all of the worlds gnarliest ranges.
I hope people can make it out. If you have specific questions/ideas/etc that you’d like to hear about, drop a line or message. Thanks to Eastern Mountain Sports and The North Face for making this happen!
